She and her family have “home-ported” and then retired here in order to maintain a strong High School experience for their two children, Her daughter currently attends Princeton University and her son is enrolled in St. Mary's Ryken High School. Bekie and her family make the northern area of St. Mary’s County their home.
Joy, a native of Illinois, moved to the Eastern shore after college and finally called Maryland home when she was transferred to St. Mary’s county by her former employer, Applebee’s International. While managing the restaurant she met and married her husband Mike, a local government contractor. They have made their home with their new baby girl Rylee in the southern part of St. Mary’s county.
